Chris Petersen | Landscape Architect / Senior Assoc.email@example.com
I have had the privilege of working in the field of landscape architecture since 1985. My interest in the field was fed by my early childhood experiences of many great outdoor spaces growing up in the Pacific Northwest and from the featured homes and landscapes I discovered while perusing Sunset Magazine. My creative bent and appreciation for urban environments was fed by exposure to great art, architecture, and music in and around Chicago where I lived for several years, spending many hours trying my hand at designing houses, cars, and graphic art, and developing my skills as a musician (drums). I also learned to appreciate and enjoy the technical aspects of design, how to turn a creative vision into something real, both beautiful and functional, and how to produce technical drawings through the many drafting classes I took beginning way back in junior high. As much as I enjoy the design process, what I find most satisfying is seeing people enjoy the places we create, whether a back yard retreat, an urban rooftop garden, or a community park, and knowing that in the process we have helped to preserve, restore, or enhance the environment.
When not creating landscapes, I can be found dabbling in various sports including softball, golf, basketball, and racquetball, tackling my next big home improvement project, or just hanging out with family and friends.
